Sami Khella, MD

Sami Khella is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he is currently Professor of Clinical Neurology and Chief of the Department of Neurology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center of the University of Pennsylvania.
After neurology residency and a neuromuscular fellowship, both at Penn, Dr. Khella cofounded the Penn Amyloidosis center in 1997. He has participated in the pivotal hereditary amyloidosis clinical trials and takes a particular interest in the V122I mutation, and the health disparities that affect African Americans with this mutation. He has written widely on amyloid polyneuropathy and is the recipient of multiple awards.
