Pedro Lowenstein, MD, PhD

Dr. Lowenstein received his MD/PhD from the University of Buenos Aires. Following postdoctoral training with Joseph T. Coyle, Harold Gainer, and Peter Somogyi, he held faculty appointments in the UK at The Universities of Dundee, Cardiff, and Manchester, returning to Los Angeles to head the Gene Therapeutics Research Institute at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He is currently Professor of Neurosurgery at The University of Michigan, School of Medicine. His brain tumor work encompass the understanding, and modeling, of the molecular and physical organization of brain tumors, the development of novel immunotherapies, and their translation into clinical trials (NCT01811992).
