Omar has a broad interest in integrating advanced neuroimaging with novel serum/CSF biomarker analyses to better understand the underlying pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders. This includes both sporadic adult-onset disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as neuro-toxicities secondary to cancer therapies. Having recently completed residency and serving as chief resident at Washington University in Saint Louis, he now works as an R25 fellow in the lab of Beau M Ances, MD PhD. He aspires to complete a fellowship in neuro-oncology with an ultimate goal of an academic position at a research institution.
