Monkol Lek, PhD

Monkol received an undergraduate degree in Engineering (Computer Engineering) in 2000 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and then worked for IBM for 3.5 years. He returned to UNSW and completed undergraduate degrees in Physiology and Bioinformatics. Monkol did his post-doctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the Broad Institute. He moved to Yale in 2018 to start his own lab and using his diverse experiences, his group focuses on the development of analytical genomics methods to improve the diagnosis of rare diseases and translating this information into custom genetic therapies in Neuromuscular diseases.
