Claude Steriade is an assistant professor of neurology at the NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. She completed medical school at McGill University, in Montreal, Canada, then an adult neurology residency at the University of Toronto in Canada. She then moved to the US to pursue an epilepsy fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where she married her interest in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology with neuro-immunology by investigating electroclinical phenotypic signatures of autoimmune encephalitis. Since joining the NYU Epilepsy Center in 2018, she has expanded her research interests to identifying patients with focal epilepsy related to autoimmunity and biomarkers of autoimmune associated epilepsies to novel imaging tools and blood immunophenotyping.
