Andrew Findlay, MD, is an instructor in Neurology and specializes in neuromuscular medicine and pathology. He obtained his medical degree from UC Irvine under the mentorship of Dr. Tahseen Mozaffar, and spent an additional research year in Dr. Kevin Flanigan’s laboratory at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, investigating exon skipping therapies for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He completed neurology residency and neuromuscle fellowship at Washington University in Saint Louis. During residency, he joined the laboratory of Dr. Conrad Weihl to pursue his interest in hereditary myopathies. His work investigating the pathomechanism and developing therapeutic strategies for limb girdle muscular dystrophy earned an AAN Neuroscience Research Training Scholarship, the AAN S. Weir Mitchell award, as well as a K08 through NIAMS.
